This fall the inspiration comes from the 80s. Recalling the History – during the 80s the US economy was coming out of recession, as though in a flashback – then too people were leery about spending money, so the fashion trends were recylced around the mix and matches to creat new looks. The punk and rock bands emerged bringing in a new fashion trend. The teenybooper trends for 2009 are thus inspired.
On the Clothes Line – colours like Metallics, Grays, Blacks, Blues & Reds. Materials –tweed and leather. The trend is to mix colours and textures and make mutiple appearances. For example a silver t – shirt will go with a blue jeans and same will go with a red shirt and hoop earrings.
Layering is in this Fall – you could layer different Tees and textures according to the school temperature – when outside in the cold, pile on all the layers shedding them with the temperatures warming up. The must have for girls and boys is a jacket, a cropped one for the girls and a regular length for the boys.
It was a moment leading to immortality that the denim cloth was made in – skinny, tighter jeans are in. Midthigh length skirts are in, microminis are out. Use mustard yellow to accentuate your outfit.
The Converse hightop shoes were a rage in the 80s and people used to decorate them with permanent markers to create their individual designs – presently the Company invites people on to its website and create their own designs to personalize their shoes.
The hair trend used to be BIG, straight, held up by spray but this fall its a tousled, messy look with more volume. For girls it the fringes, bedhead look with an asymmetrical cut. Colour Accents like purple, blues and reds are still posh.
